Bring Your Own GPU
Run your workspace on your own hardware — securely, privately, and with full platform features.
Use your local GPU, workstation, or server as a compute node. You keep control of the hardware; Genesys gives you the workspace control plane.
Your machine. Our control plane.
BYOD lets you run workspaces on your own machine instead of our cloud. Your data and hardware stay under your control while the platform still provides storage profiles, encrypted secrets, security settings, lifecycle hooks, operations, and an activity feed.
Three steps from hardware to workspace.
Bring a Linux machine you control.
- Linux with Docker installed
- NVIDIA or AMD GPU supported
- Outbound HTTPS connectivity
- Configured agent storage root
- Account authentication required
BYOD compute is free.
There is no platform charge for CPU or GPU time on your own hardware. Storage profiles, secrets, security controls, hooks, and activity remain available. Hosted compute is billed separately when you choose cloud hardware.

- Read-only rootfs, capability drops, seccomp, and network policies
- Storage paths restricted beneath the configured root
- Invalid environment keys and traversal rejected
- Authenticated operations and auditable events
Local GPU workflows without the maze.
Run private inference servers, model training, game servers, personal development environments, secure internal tools, and hybrid cloud/local workflows.
High-signal answers.
Does BYOD cost money?
No compute charge for your own hardware. Hosted fallback is billed separately.
Is my data safe?
The agent only mounts approved paths beneath its storage root and all workspace operations are authenticated and recorded.
Can I use multiple devices?
Yes. Register multiple GPU or workstation devices to your account.
Can I mix hosted and BYOD?
Yes. Hosted and BYOD workspaces use the same control-plane model.
Does BYOD support persistent storage?
Yes. Persistent and hybrid storage live under the configured agent storage root.
Does BYOD support hooks?
Agent-side hook execution is coming soon; hosted Docker and Kata hooks are available now.
Connect your hardware when you are ready.
Sign in, download the agent, follow the setup guide, and deploy your first workspace.
